(Think of it as a yodelee country-twang song)
I must stand tall and take this oath
Commit my mind to the open road
For while I homestead on this ground
With heart so willing – beyond proud
My destination once deemed far
Now draws in close – like a speeding car
Where what’s accomplished in each day
Bears fruit so ripe to nourish gains
I lost my soul back many turns
Was made ashamed but now have learned
That what some fear as plain to see
Belongs to me – in fact, to thee
I cannot lie: I love this way
Unfettered yoke – I’ll seize the day!
I only pray Grace guides my hands
To help others to The Promised Land
And if you falter don’t be shy
You aren’t a camel in the needle’s eye
So join me now – be brave and dare
Unveil your eyes and become aware
Of what it’s like to hold your truth
And give the past its Royal Boot
In Holy name, our spirits thrive
With Hope: we more than just survive
Come state your name and I’ll state mine
Our roots of life deep Earth-entwined.
