Male Bonding

A Woman’s Plight

“She has the burden of ensuring that there are only wanted pregnancies; the burden of taking the hormones to prevent any; the burden of trying to stay sane, polite, and loving while the hormones rip her mind apart and ramp her emotional sensitivity beyond manageability; and she has the burden of dealing with the loss and rejection when she is discarded and replaced by or in favor of some soon other – making her become the victim of yet another crime of absolute and complete lack of accountability, responsibility, or any commitment from the man and/ or men who feed into her being continuously put into this position.

Because we all know that although men still expect perfection, they do not ensure that women can have any – and in fact, now take so much more and contribute even less (if at all) to help abate – let alone diminish – a woman’s deep distress that the man/men have propagated.”

The Raptor And The Gargoyle

The Raptor And The Gargoyle: Underground

He took so long to answer that she wasn’t at first sure that he’d been listening…

Then a sense of his strength washed over her as warmth of his low growling chuckle filled the spaces around them, echoing off the blackened-by-night walls of the high-rise nook where they perched ensconced, gazing at the bright city lights far, far out toward the water’s edge, and way down far below them.

“As you wish,” his voice resonated deep within her mind. “Follow me down if you’re daring…”

The Raptor And The Gargoyle: Maelstrom

“I know…” she assented. ” You think that due to my form and size, that I am incapable of those things that you seek and desire.

But, tell me, oh still frozen-solid one.

What do you think it has taken for me to endure life’s trials and, yet, still keep returning here?

You think me small because I let you think me small – so as not to frighten you from your precarious perch that you are still so valuing…”

The Raptor And The Gargoyle: Promise

“I’m very good at hunting for survival,” she chirped, admitting in quiet confidence.

“And one thing I’ve gotten very good at seeking and finding is the rarest kind of love. The kind where the heart beats deep with passion.

“I can still sense a trace of it near here, somewhere…” and she carefully inched up his arm onto his shoulder to settle against his warm rock neck, feathers gently fluffing.

“Do you like that I return to you and alight like a bird upon your sleeve?” she asked the gargoyle.

“In truth, it comforts me to see your bright ways return to contrast against the gray of my world’s city. But I worry for you…”

“Why?” she asked him. “There is a sense of home here for me. Can not this make you happy that I return to thee?”

“Because I will never change my ways for you,” he grumbled. “I will never allow your colors, nor your sunlight, to transform me.”

Male Bonding

The Dating Scene

“I’m pissed because it seems I have a type that is attracted to me: young or old, kindly loving and nurturing one moment – then ever distant.

Talk about “daddy issues!”

All shapes and sizes, masked and chameleonizing, to reveal that same dead end I keep bumping up against.

I don’t know how to change this.

THAT’S what makes me bitter.

THAT’S what gets me down.

Men who are capable of the deepest, most profound loving, killing it – and allowing it to be dead and buried, underground.

You want to know what keeps propagating evil?

Men not standing up proudly for love’s light and fighting for the right to have it.

THIS is why our world is spiraling down.”
