Mini Rabbit

U-turn at freeway junction
To help a lady removing

From edge-center lane
Where previous car hit

‘Is it still alive – any hope?”
“I’m not sure” / “Show me”

Scrambling to catch, I fall
Reminded limbs don’t work

She helps me up and we
Put it in a bag for transport

But the vet isn’t licensed and
Wildlife support doesn’t call

Needed pain killers and
Help to stop blood’s flow

Gently placing it in a container
In blanket with grass and water

With aded B-viamins for shock
I encourage, “It’s your choice”

Returning later eve to dull eyes
Grieving that its soul passed on

But at least it was protected
In its final hours with honor

Comedy

Highly-Digestible Rawhide

“I took a chance and got Hound and Wolf the large strips, again.

They gnawed on them for so long, and now are just lying on their sides, splayed out as if tranked – in a way I’ve never seen before.

I think that in the wild, a dog’s natural tendency is to gorge, be satiated into a stupor, and then to go hunt and repeat this cycle, again.

But having never seen this behavior in my girls, I worry about them!”

Underground

Dear Friend,

“I have been careful as I have walked beside you.

I could only observe the slightest of your journey, to keep myself healthy and from falling into the spiral.

I could only say just so much, for worry you would resist and react – thereby plunging deeper.

So I tethered you to me by a few words here or there, to remind you that there was a window – an escape hatch full of air, ready and waiting for you.”
