A Woman's Plight, Male Bonding, Myths & Legends

The King’s Blessing

There had been too many tragedies
As a result of decisions made past

Too many losses experienced
When no one can ever go back

The weight of the world had always
Been his burden of responsibility

Generations of corrupt collusions
Cast doubt upon worth of fealty

He had not supported their actions
Yet still carried the onus of ancestry

And Fate can become unkind when
Forces of Chaos manipulate destiny

But somewhere beneath crushed pride
Remained an embered memory of love

It burned too much to touch it so
He’d gripped it with leather glove

Once released if it were possible
He’d have fallen to beg upon knees

As remembered their flights together when
Sacred winds had whispered through trees

And wished with all of his heart that
She could again love wild and free
