He didn’t understand why it was happening.
His parents just one day stopped truly seeing him.
Even when they spoke with him, it was as if they or he, were/was not truly present.
Were they distracted? Had he changed inside so quickly, so drastically?
Had he grown beyond their capacities of understanding?
They didn’t see his silence as an indicator that he was falling…falling deeper away from the norms of expectation.
