Funny, That…
She had become ill because of how he had been treating her.
Then, despite all that she had given and supported before, he and his family just threw her out onto the street so that they would not have to care for her.
And yet, once away from them all, even though caught up in the miring of dust and the toil, her sanity came back to her because she was no longer under their corrupted control nor influence.
Now that was worth some hearty, full throttled, open-mouthed and loudly maniacal laughter – even without any liquor!

Desire
She wanted him.
Not because he was perfect.
But because he worked for and toward it.
And collapsed when he couldn’t.
But then, got back up again – despite any weakness.
He was the man that she wanted to stand and fall with.
Because, together, they could find ways to rise again and fall more gently.
For they had what it takes to mutually invest in and enjoy life in any weather.
They could catch and lead each other.
They could be passionately, exclusively essential lovers.
Higher Calling
She needed a man who had fought for his higher values and proven his commitment in the past, just as she had fought for and proven hers.
Choking On The Past
God(s) – Make It Stop!
She didn’t want these dream reminders of how her life in relationship used to be…
Resurfacing memories playing out in new scenarios creating a continuum where being relegated to less than almost barely tolerable was what she deserved – and the way that it “should” always be!

Love’s Mystery
What causes the pulse to pound
Beyond normal range of flattery?
What steals one’s breath in passing
As if it’s the source of all breathing?
What causes a heart to crave
Certain perfect imperfections?
What freezes where once brave
Because means the world to me?
A Thing About Unicorns
They are so rare because they are incredibly shy in their astute bravery – and invariably might get caught into neverending farther and farther circling around eachother.
So wary have they become as the world has grown harsher and more callouse that it’s a wonder that any two meet and breed, at all!
He’s The One
A phrase past hung upon shoulders of others, as if trying to match pictures to frame – yet not quite felt the same as only once before, and this time irrefutable.
Lovestruck
She sat there, eyes downcast, afraid to look at him directly for fear that she might see confirmation that it was all just a game, afterall – a ruse to call her out from hiding and make fun of her heart’s yearning vulnerability.
Hands clasping her fingers tightly on top of her lap as they ached to reach out to touch his face and extend arms to hold him, her eyes burned with tears as they rebelled at her refusal to at last gaze into his own.

Time’s Capsule
I remember being at my grandparent’s home
Always a place of safety away from main society
Yet planted in the very heart of prime social elitism
Only just one door away by grandpa playing piano
And when I returned as a teen after he had passed
The place felt the same but much more empty
I could have stayed there forever and would have
Had my grandmother left the house in will to me
But my uncle and his family eventually took over
All properties and moved her with them for caretaking
I got a small funding to begin my own life later
Her parting gift used to spread wings for flying

Stayed in bed for the rest of their lives
